Shipp sang the track as her final performance. She also sang in Straight Outta Compton, a biographical film that narrates the story of the hip-hop band N.W.A. She co-starred with Bryan Singer in the superhero movie X-Men: Apocalypse, as Ororo Murrell/Storm, a weather-controlling mutation that was previously portrayed by Halle Berry. In the year 2018 Nick Robinson, Jorge Lendeborg Jr. were in Love Simon. Kathryn Prescott was also featured in Dude. James is her elder brother. She portrayed Danielle Dani Ray's character as Danielle Dani Raymond in Drumline the film New Beat, the TV film from the year 2014. Alexandra Ruth Shipp (born July 16 1991) is an American actress, singer, songwriter, and instrumentalist who rose to fame for her portrayal of the real-life artist Aaliyah as a character in the Lifetime TV film Aaliyah: the Princess of R&B (2014) and Kimberly Woodruff in the Oscar-nominated film Straight Outta Compton (2015).
